Blockstream launches Confidential Assets for enterprise customers

Blockstream has released Confidential Assets, a new feature of its Elements platform.

The new feature facilitates the “issuance, management and transfer of multiple asset types in a manner that enables cryptographically-enforced confidentially” while offering audibility and security.

Confidential Assets is aimed at enterprise customers looking to build their own blockchains that can be publicly verified while maintaining control over privacy of exchange.

Businesses have the option to selectively disclose hidden asset values and types.

Information protection in public blockchains

“In today’s increasingly digital environments, privacy and security of financial transactions is more critical than ever,” Blockstream CEO Dr Adam Back said. “Our latest release of Confidential Assets enables users to protect financial information about their transactions and commercial activity in a public blockchain.”

“By enabling multiple asset types and putting control of privacy into the hands of the users, we are empowering solution providers and businesses to build blockchains for their most valued use cases.”

Elements is an opensource blockchain platform that utilises the Bitcoin protocol to provide advanced features.
